I-Joists / I-Beams
An engineered wood joist, more commonly known as an I-joist or I-beam, is a product designed to eliminate problems that occur with conventional wood joists.
I-Joists / I-Beams are less likely to bow, crown, twist, cup, check or split as would a traditional solid floor joist. This structural integrity and also little or no shrinkage help eliminate squeaky floors.
Masonite I-Joists / I-Beam Construction
I-Joists are comprised of a central OSB web between solid top and bottom flanges. The joists resist bending and with the webs, provide outstanding shear resistance.
Our Masonite I-Beam is an engineered wood product that has great strength in relation to its size and weight.
Masonite Beams manufactures and sells modern, customised, efficient wood-based I-beam systems and technical solutions. All production is located at Rundvik, near Umeå in Northern Sweden from sustainable sources.
The flanges of beams and studs consist of mechanically sorted structural timber, while the web consists of 10mm OSB. Special lengths for length optimisation are available on request, and in larger projects and long series, special dimensions can be manufactured.
