Grade II Listed Timber Frame Extension
Working in conjunction with Robert Pilkington Builders, Heywood Timber Engineering helped extend an imposing Grade II listed building using a timber frame extension solution.
Kirklees can boast numerous historic homes dating back to the thriving cotton industry. This particular imposing property is set in extensive grounds in Lascelles Hall, Huddersfield. It already had a single story extension to the side and the plan was to raise this to incorporate a first floor extension and ensure it was in keeping with the adjacent Grade II listed properties.
“The timber frame structure fitted perfectly with the existing building and enabled us to ensure we met the stringent design criteria and also completed this work as quickly as possible to minimise disruption to the homeowner.
Heywood Timber Engineering were recommended to us by a local builders merchant, Timber Specialists and they provided the timber frame and roof trusses.” - Robert Pilkington
“This project wasn’t the simplest of timber frame extensions but it has gone well for all concerned. We are certainly enjoyed working with Robert Pilkington Builders and would certainly recommend them for such projects in and around Huddersfield.” - Jonathan Mayo
